A summary
*For Holland Junior School pupils only* This after school club is available to all year groups. The pupils will meet on the school field before we head into Forest School to explore, make fires, be creative, play games, use tools and many more. We can’t wait to see your child at Forest School for lots of fun. Once signing up you will receive an email to confirm, along with a kit list. About us - Forest School at Holland is run by Amelia and Karina who helped Reece and Lydia (Seeking Wild) to run forest schools in schools and at camps. Many of the children have already met Amelia and Karina and we look forward to exploring with them this half term.
About your mentor
Be Wild
Exploring the world through nature
At Be Wild we believe in allowing children to explore themselves and the world around them through nature and play. Providing a safe and inspiring environment for the leaners imagination and creativity to run wild. We want to inspire anyone that come to Be Wild to go outside more, explore their local area, forage, climb tree and create experiences that leaners can take into the rest of their lives. In turn we aspire to help parents and family to feel safe about their children exploring and playing freely outdoors. We take inspiration from many learning theorist and stories and practices of indigenous cultures such as Forest School, Montessori, Steiner and Celtic festivals which a line closely with our seasons. We love to incorporate nature, triable, instinctive games to teach children about wildlife and our environment while getting them active, working in teams and communicating. We aim to build emotional and physical development through the games we play, the songs we sing, the stories we tell and the bushcraft skills we teach. Amelia - My love for nature started from a young ages, growing up visiting my grandparents farm regularly, climbing tree, building fires, playing wide games in the fields with family. Throughout my child hood I was involved in Scouting. This is where I made some of my best childhood memories all outside and in nature. These memories are what inspire my passion in wanting to allow children to 'be wild' and free. In 2018 I started my role as Cub Leader, where I ran cub camps and weekly groups. This is when my idea for Forest School came from and since then I have completed my Forest School Level 3 Practitioner course, worked at schools and freelanced with Seeking Wild. I love it!
