A summary
Calling skaters of all abilities! We'll meet at the Civic Centre before heading off to RollaCity for a fun-filled afternoon where you can learn the basics of skating and win prizes for your skills! At this event you'll receive an hour of small group roller skating tuition followed by a buffet lunch served by RollaCity chefs themselves. After lunch we'll have an hour of free skating, come along to build a new skill, refine your technique and compete for some cool prizes. Roller skating is an up and coming sport in Southend, and we aim to have a free community roller rink built for young people to develop and refine their skills. So this is your opportunity to share your views on why your city should to invest in this rapidly growing sport!

Southend Youth Voice Team
Supporting Young Change Makers in Southend
The Southend Youth Voice Team plays a key role in empowering children, young people, and families across Southend-on-Sea by ensuring their voices are not only heard, but meaningfully influence local decision-making. Based within Children's Services, the team works collaboratively with departments across Southend-on-Sea City Council, as well as with statutory and voluntary organisations, to champion youth participation at every level. We lead a range of youth forums including: - Southend City Youth Council - Cared for Children’s Council - Experts by Experience - SEND Youth Forum These forums provide young people with the opportunity to express their views, shape policy, and co-produce services that impact their lives. Through these platforms, we help turn young voices into real change for the community.
FAQs
What should we wear? We'll be inside for this session, but we'll be getting our skates on, so please wear comfy clothes you can move in. Make sure to wear socks, and if it's rainy please bring a coat. What should I bring? We'll provide refreshments & lunch throughout the day, but please feel free to bring your own drinks too. Where will we meet? We'll meet outside of the Civic Centre, by the public car park. What's for lunch? We'll have a buffet style lunch of chicken nuggets, pizza, fries etc. If you have specific dietary needs, please let us know when you book. Where will we be picked up? If you are being collected from this event, we will meet back at the civic centre at 4pm. If we are a little delayed coming back from RollaCity, we'll keep you posted!
